Teen Climate Leaders

As the most dynamic member of society, youths are essential drivers in advancing movement for environmental preservation. Thus, their involvement is something that should be encouraged more. Also aware of this is Albert Arnold Gore Jr. or Al Gore, a passionate environmentalist and the 45th vice president of the USA. Therefore, through his nonprofit organization The Climate Reality Project, International Training for teen ambassadors was held. This event was attended by 32 teens from 6 countries and 670 adults from 26 nations. The training was also a joint project with inaugural Inconvenient Youth Training where teens will become the Climate Project Presenters and serve on the Inconvenient Youth Advisory Board.

For two days, delegates will be trained personally by Al Gore and attended updated presentation from his latest book “Our Choice” in Nashville, Tennessee. The program will focus on harnessing leadership skills of youth as well as solutions invented and yet to be found in handling climate crisis. Through this training, it is hoped that youths will utilize the power and influence that they have to press on the issue. Sahabat Alam was honored to represent Indonesia in the event and is even more pleased to extend the encouragement, empowerment and knowledge towards Indonesian teenagers in order to develop Indonesian climate movement even further.
