It is found out that wetland area in Jakarta is getting smaller and smaller. In an attempt to conserve whatever was left, Sahabat Alam went on a search to catalog wetland locations and educate locals about the importance of wetlands as well as measures on preservation. Not only that, Sahabat Alam also released catfish to wetlands to maintain ecosystem balance and provides an incentive for the people to preserve wetlands.

Wetlands are ecosystems saturated with water either permanently or seasonally such as swamps and turfs. These environments are rich in biodiversity and serve as a water source for human and other creatures. The conversion of such landscape will not only destroy biodiversity but also release massive amount of carbondioxide, one of the greenhouse gasses. Hopefully, through this program, wetland ecosystem in Jakarta could be preserved.
