The city of Jakarta has made car free day a monthly event under the City Regulation no. 2/2005 in an attempt to alleviate air pollution. Held in the customary place of Jalan Boulevard Artha Gading up to Jalan Kelapa Nias Raya, the event is hoped to bring confidence towards that people that they could be independent of personal vehicles and hopefully instills good habits of sustainable lifestyle. Sahabat Alam of course attended this event as a bridge to familiarize younger generation towards current environmental issues, in this case, emission and air pollution, and extend their invitation to start joining conservation efforts. With the participation of society from all ages, hopefully preservation measures would thrive more.
